This year is the Year of the Woman and what better time to take control of your life! We are the architects of our life. We design and build our life everyday consciously or unconsciously. The decisions we take, the actions we perform, all shape the course of our life. Every time we engage in any activity we are unconsciously saying to ourselves,“I am fine with the consequences of my actions.” We take responsibility unconsciously. That’s why we have to be careful with the decisions we make and the actions in which we partake. As my Mother used to tell me, “For every action there is an equal and opposite reaction.” And she wasn’t just referring to Newtonian Laws, she wanted me to realize that actions have consequences. Our actions have a retroactive effect on the world around us . At work, at home, even in our social circles. The effect of something we do can impact our whole life and change the course of our entire lifetime. For example, if you dabble with sex at a young age and get pregnant you become a mother at a very young age. That affects everything you do from then on. You might not be able to go back to school because you now have a child that needs to be the centre of your world. You can’t go out whenever you like because you have to put the needs of your child first.
Compare that to someone who has a child as an adult—with a good paying job and can afford to care for that child. The actions are the same—in both cases you had sex—butthe effects are different because you are at different stages in your life. That’s why our actions should be thought through before we carry them out. If we start to stop and think in detailabout the consequences of our actions, we will cause less damage and save ourselves a lot of pain and disappointment in that process.
Our actions today can dramatically affect our lifetime . This is most common when we are younger. As we get older we become less flexible .We really have to decide today to be careful about the choices we make. It’s never too late to change your life but it’s more difficult the older you get.
You can start today to take actions that can help impact your life positively in future. You can decide to train more in your line of work so that you becomeknowledgeable, or you can decide to learn a new skill to argument whatever skill you have now. You can decide to eat more nutritious food, to reduce the risk of heart disease , obesity or cancer. You can decide to make your children study more so that they excel in school. You can decide to join a fitness class to motivate you to lose weight. You can decide to do anything and in that process change the course of your life.
So GET UP and get ready—onlyyou, and no one else, has the power to change your life!
Get to it now.
